Abrasive Wheels - Type 41, 42 & 27

This course is intended for operators who mount abrasive wheels on angle grinders (with cutting or grinding wheels), cut-off saws and bench top cut-off saws. It will give delegates an understanding and appreciation of abrasive wheel safety and sound mounting techniques.

Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos Awareness training for operatives who may encounter Asbestos during their working day.

Asbestos Operative Initial

Approved by UKATA, This course is designed to provide operatives with the knowledge and understanding of asbestos removal procedures. The course is delivered via theory and practical training methods.

Banksmen / Yard Ops

Recommended for nominated people on a large premises or site with transport movement issues e.g. shared access / on busy road / high vehicle volume. Includes training in guiding vehicles, hand signals and safety.

Cartridge Operated Fixing Tools

This course is based on the Hilti DX450 and equivalent machines and is designed to give delegates a knowledge of inspection, maintenance, fixing methods, choice of nail or fixing and choice of cartridge.

CCNSG safety passport

This CCNSG Safety Passport Scheme is a nationally recognised qualification. This course is aimed at all employees within the construction & engineering industries and sub-contractor personnel working within the installation and maintenance sectors. Candidates will be assessed on each module of the Safety Passport via a multiple-choice question paper.

Confined Space Awareness

This course provides delegates with the basic skills and knowledge to manage and supervise work at confined spaces and to make them aware of the risks and the current legal obligations involved in such workplaces.

Electrofusion Pipe Welding

This course is for operatives who are required to use Electrofusion equipment to complete pipe jointing. Course is workshop based and includes pre-use checks, specification, set up, use and safe handling and storage.

Fire Marshal Training

This course ensures that nominated people can effectively carry out their duties as a fire marshal. A Fire Marshal is recommended for all work locations and some locations will require several Marshalls to ensure safety of the workforce in the event of a fire or other serious incident.

Gas Detection Equipment Procedures

This course is for people who are required to use Gas Detection Equipment as part of their role including specification, maintenance and operation. This course is linked to Confined Space Awarness (CT011) training.

Hand Arm Vibration (White Finger) Training

Hand arm vibration is transmitted from work processes into workers’ hands and arms. It is most commonly caused by operating hand held power tools. Regular and frequent exposure to hand arm vibration can lead to permanent health effects collectively known as hand arm vibration syndrome and other specific diseases. This course introduces the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2006 and ensures that employers are fully aware of their responsibilities under this legislation.

Ladders and Steps

This course is intended for staff who use ladders and steps in the workplace. It demonstrates the duties of the employee as well as the employer under the Work at Height Regulations 2005. As well as demonstrating the safe use, maintenance and inspection of individual items of access equipment a practical element.

LPG Safe Carriage

This course covers the employers responsibility under the ADR Regulations to have "adequate training" for their staff who have to transport and store LPG gas. This course covers legal requirements and recommended best practice.

Man-riding Tripod and Winch

This course is run along side the escape sets and gas detector course. Course covers inspection, use and examination of the tripod and winch.

Manual Handling - Operations

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require that employers are responsible for ensuring that all staff who lift or move loads are trained and this course will help employers comply with this legislation. It will teach delegates how to identify risks, develop and understanding of what is being moved and be able to determine the safest method of handling to avoid injury. The course includes assessing risk, loading techniques, tail-lift use and load restraint.

Mini Excavator Loading and Securing

This course covers safe loading and securing of small mobile plant including mini diggers. This course is ideal for utilities contractors where operators are well trained for machine use e.g. excavation but have not received formal training on transportation, trailer checks and law and securing of plant for transport

PASMA Mobile Access Tower

This course is aimed at users of mobile access towers (both alloy and fibreglass) and instructs delegates on how to safely erect, move, inspect and dismantle mobile access towers. The course is recognised by the HSE. The official PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association) certification satisfies the ‘Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998’ (PUWER) and the ‘Work at Height Regulations 2005.’

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) & RCD Testing

Suitable for the Tool Hire Industry, Power Tool Repairers and Domestic Appliance Engineers. Once delegates have completed the course they are legally authorised to carry out PAT testing indefinitely. We do however recommend a refresher course every 3 years.

SSSTS - 2 Day Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme

The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course has been designed to meet the needs of site supervisors within the construction industry. This course is for first line managers – those who have to, or are about to, acquire supervisory responsibilities. The course aims to highlight the need for risk assessment in the workplace, implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication and monitoring in order to provide and maintain positive standards of health, safety and welfare on a construction site. The SSSTS training course is designed to ensure that candidates have an overview and understanding of their responsibility for supervising and helping to oversee safety in a construction site environment. The SSSTS training course is an ideal lead in for delegates who will go on to attend the five-day CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) at a later stage of their career development.

Telescopic Handler - ITSSAR / NPORS

Tools and Equipment Training

This course is designed to fulfil the employers duty of care under the Health and Safety at Work Act and PUWER regulations / LOLER regulations for Lifting Equipment. UKATA - Asbestos Awareness

Approved by UKATA, this course is designed to increase general awareness of asbestos within the working enviroment. This course is supported by the HSE and endeavous to install a sufficient level of awareness to those that can either be potentially exposed to asbestos containing materials during their daily work activities or for those who wish to increase their knowledge of asbestos.

Underground Services Location and Avoidance - CAT & Genny

This course includes safe use, maintenance and storage of Cable Avoidance Tools and associated equipment including Sonde and Genny. Standard course covers Cat 3 and 3 Plus. RD4000 can be covered on request.

Working At Height

This course is based around the Work at Height Regulations 2005. It is designed to give delegates an understanding of the regulations, and what these mean for the employee as well as the employer. The course covers risk assessments and shows delegates how to plan any work at height, including equipment selection and how to put measures into place to prevent falls. The course can be tailored to individual companies needs.
